The Hall of Shame

Today we were at the International Civil Rights Center and Museum in Greensboro, North Carolina. The most poignant part of the trip to me was the Hall of Shame with images depicting atrocities against African Americans. The image of a man who had been burned was the most astonishing. To see the white men around the burnt body smiling and looking pleased made me feel angry and incredibly sad. The fact that another human being could do something like that to anther human being was such a rude awakening for me.
Later we went to North Carolina A &T University and talked  with Lewis Brandon. He was a very insightful and well spoken man. Even though he had faced so much hardship in his life, he hadn't given up on his fellow humans.  Lewis Brandon still fighting for the causes that he believes in and that was really inspiring.
